Giftart 3 - Platypus With Gun

So here is ~FrothingLizard's Brogan Woodward-Hooter! I had been working on this for a while even before this week, but apparently I caught the zeitgeist b/c this is just one of many pics of Bro over the past few days. Which is fine by me because I'm a big ol' Brogan fangirl.

1) I had this finished last night (March 3) but laptop was at the office, so I had no way to upload it. I'll try to have something else done for tonight as well!

2) This... did not come out the way I wanted it to. So I tried to do something different on the colouring, to make it look a little more interesting. The main issue I was able to fix was that I utterly hated the linework. It was awful. So I took most of it out. I'm not handy with putting down lines in Photoshop - I don't have a tablet and I'm not a good mouser - so instead I coloured the way I usually do with the linework as a layer on top, then dodged/burned, added a few lines where needed, and then blurred the edges a bit. I left in the linework in a few spots where I didn't think I'd be able to manage it, mainly in her hair and on her sleeves. Otherwise this is all digital which is nice!

3) The other big issue is the pose. I had a really clear pose in my head which it turned out was not anatomically correct on paper. I *could not* find a pose ref for it or anything similar. So I studied a few backs and gave it a shot on my own. Yes, I had to crop the legs because the feet were so bad. There are a ton of other things wrong and I didn't get her face right either.

On the plus side, I'm finally happy with her hair.

I'm not proud of this one, really. I'm going to put FL back on my list and do another piece for her down the road, hopefully when I've improved some, but in the meantime! Eh... what an awful thing to do. "Here is a gift for you! I think it's ugly but you better like it!" (I don't think it's ugly, I just think it could be improved on.)
